Dr. Mekler was accepted to the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine 6 year program straight from high school. Like Dr. Shomstein, she completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Louisiana State University (LSU) in New Orleans and continued her training after being accepted to the LSU pain medicine fellowship. Her mission is to improve her patients’ functional ability without the limitations of pain and help them avoid getting unnecessary surgery.

St. Louis is Dr. Mekler’s hometown and she is ecstatic to finally be home. She enjoys rooting for the St. Louis Blues, hiking, health and nutrition as well as organic gardening.
